Being a Woman
Nadya Rudyak · · Series: Two in a boat

Christmas. Day 2
What does it mean to be a Woman?
A daunting, cornerstone question. I stand right by the Sacred Wound. I have almost no strength left.
I turn to Mary with this question.
For a long time I cannot make contact with Her. She slips away, eludes me. I understand that this is my block, my fear.
I try to remember Her. What is She like? I speak to Her in my mind:
— You are the embodiment of balance. You are the perfect balance of the material and the spiritual. From You light and warmth spread in all directions. There was much labour and many trials in Your life, which You, like everything else, accepted with dignity, humility and gratitude. You make the world better simply by being. The world is made better by Your Presence.
I come out of the meditation and suddenly understand: all that I told Her is Her message to me about the me I was born to be, and whom I do not know.
To that me of mine who was born a Woman.
