What on Earth is Happening Here

A Moment of Sincerity

It all began in the spring of 2025, when my friend and I simultaneously had the idea to create a place where one could share the best of Christianity and Ignatian spirituality in a simple and accessible way, without the barriers that church terms unfortunately create. Lowering the entry threshold for those who are earnestly seeking God but are frightened by stereotypes about the church.

Then came the stage of brainstorming and discussions with friends, sketches of the first plan, and initial attempts at development.

And recently, the website appeared in the form it is now.

On one hand, my "neurojunes" (neural networks), which code all this instead of me, work wonders. There are no unsolvable issues with the technical side, only time and resources are needed.

On the other hand, I know quite a few people who hold in their minds and personal notes invaluable, incredible, unimaginable treasures of beauty - stories of their journey to God, stories of overcoming fears and weaknesses, building living relationships with the Lord, the incredible beauty of His loving care for us... Treasures that can ignite the heart of the beholder with just one glance.

But all these beauties are securely hidden by their owners, who sometimes do not even realise what values they possess.

How I wish to show this beauty to everyone! To make this place on the internet a true Treasure Island amidst barren lands and debris in the ocean! To add another island full of beauty and meaning, where a traveller can find sincerity and true friends. And, having gained support and gathered strength with a new fire in their eyes, continue their journey - pilgrimage - on this planet and in their life towards God.

But how to awaken other treasure bearers?
How to show that the pearls that have filled their minds during their journey to God belong not only to them and should not be feared to be displayed?
How to convey that the true beauty of their gold becomes accessible only when someone else has the opportunity to enjoy it?
How to inspire the first step, how to overcome doubts?...

I seek answers to all my questions from Him Who knew them even before they were asked). And I believe that if it is His will, the moment will come when the island will shine and burn brighter than any lighthouse.

Meanwhile, I am preparing rooms and lighting, erecting pedestals, in short, creating conditions for those who wish to share the best that truly never belonged to them.

I am also preparing a space for communication and for conducting Spiritual Exercises - building shipyards on the island for those ready to embark on a journey for their treasures, and for those ready to accompany them. Places where we will train together with travellers, build reliable ships, learn to predict storms, recognise the direction of winds and currents. And of course, tune the compass to Him Who, in His great love and care, organised this game for us - Life.

A Little About the Technical Part

So, the minimal functionality is ready and launched. Let's take a look (very superficially) at what we have today:

1. Registration on the platform with profile settings (among other things, the ability to add a buymeacoffee link for Authors of articles)

2. Blog functionality, where each registered user can share their experience. At the moment, moderation is manual, but in the next release, there will be AI. In addition to standard moderation rules, there will be a check on the presentation of information - it should be about lived experience. No dry theory, discussions, or empty quoting, only personal experience.
   Stories are structured into "Series" for ease of search and reading.

3. Functionality for conducting Spiritual Exercises online. From the side of the accompanist - creating and publishing retreats with subsequent individual accompaniment, and from the side of the exercitant - finding an accompanist and participating in retreats. The entire history is saved, with the possibility to leave personal (inaccessible to anyone else) notes and thoughts.

4. Comment and reaction system for Stories with AI moderation.

Plans for the Future

1. Library Section, where I will start collecting Ignatian literature available for open publication.

2. Internal chat. Something like Telegram, so that each registered user can have conversations with anyone, for example, write to the accompanist before retreats. Discussion threads within articles will be displayed as groups in TG.

3. Modernisation of the retreat editing page so that the accompanist can see the external view exactly as other users will see it from the creation stage.

4. Bug fixes and translation errors.
