Be Glorified

In sorrow and in joy, glory to the Father,
and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
Steps toward the beginning or toward the end—
I cannot do otherwise
than to glorify You and give thanks
for the fact that I have no strength to endure,
nor to see, nor to hear, nor to speak.
For the fact that time has stood still.

For the blessed weight of the tree of the Cross,
for the sun blazing with heat,
with sand upon my teeth I will praise the Father,
Him who is so generous in His peace.

Who is eternally crucified and eternally living,
be glorified above all the earth.
Into the fire of the nethermost depths I will go down with You
and to the East I will soar with You.
For the torn wounds, for the strong hands,
the nails that have blossomed into flowers.
For the gaze that conquers former torments,
my Lord and my God, be glorified.

For the wind beneath the wings, for the hurricane,
for the serpentine road and for the highway,
for the force of the strike on the brakes,
I will glorify the Holy Spirit, the voice of God,
whose nature is both light and steadfast,
an unfathomable spring of grace,
for allowing me to become the fourth
in the furnace where You are thrice.
